Chiclana de la Frontera to Playa Valdevaqueros

Last day of cycling in Spain, Tarifa is really close and our plan is to take the ferry to Tanger tomorrow. We start by following Miguel on one of his favorite gravel routes between Chiclana and Conil. We pass through pine forests, fields, and narrow roads to end up on a path along the red coast. The landscape is breathtaking despite the cloudy sky. A special note about Miguel's route: it was really fun! It's flat then you can maintain a good speed, and it's a bit technical as well; small bumps, ups and downs, potholes, and protruding roots keep you really focused and constantly reactive on the bike. Once we arrive in Conil de la Frontera, we say goodbye to Miguel over a beer. From there, we entered a cycle path that runs along the entire coast, sometimes alongside the national road, sometimes through pine forests. A really safe and pleasant stretch of bike lane. We stopped at a campsite 14 km from Tarifa, pitched our two tents on five pitches (it's low season, after all) and headed for dinner. The excitement in the air was palpable: tomorrow we would be cycling on another continent!
